Nauhatallenne is a DIY cassette mastering and duplication company.

I produce small cassette runs of 10 and 20 copies now and then.
​
Each run is mastered at Studiotallenne directly onto a master cassette tape. The aim is not to create direct copies of the original masters, but to ensure that each run and each cassette is unique and sounds great on cassette format.
​
Master cassettes are crafted using Tascam 122 MK II and MK III recorders. Duplication is carried out with Tascam T-2640 units.
The sound of these devices is faithful to late-80s bootleg releases, although the duplication is performed in the best possible way these machines can handle at Studio Tallenne.

Practical info for ordering cassettes
​
First of all, contact me via instagram or email and ask for the cassettes. It's the easiest way to talk about the cassette release. We can go trough the cassette masters, lengths, colors, covers, sheets and so on. After the release is planned the technical stuff is below.

Cassette mastering:
The master cassette is crafted from the original mix tracks.

Naming tracks is important. Number all the audio tracks in the order they are supposed to be on album. Name also the album sides.​​​​​

Master cassette from master tracks:

The master cassette is crafted from the vinyl or cassette master files. In this case the files are always tuned with eq for the master cassette type that is used. Also the dynamics, saturation and stereo image are evaluated individually for every album.

The cassettes are always labeled with stamps by hand.

Send me a .pdf file with the Artist name and Album name spelled correctly.

Cover art

The cover art is printed on high quality photopaper (Note that I don't make traditional J-cards).

The cover art size and technical specs: size 10 cm x 6,5 cm, 300dpi (minimum), CMYK.

Other

The album info and other release info are printed in high quality art paper.

Other sheets (tracks, lyrics, stickers or whatever) can be added inside the cassette covers also. Ask for these.​
